What is Mosiah Roots?
Mosiah Roots is an organization that offers a variety of outdoor programming for youth groups, corporate organizations, and other special interest groups. In addition, we also provide certification trainings for aquatic and health & safety courses.
Mosiah’s Roots Outdoor Adventures’ mission is to provide our youth and our community with the tools needed to build strong positive values that develop leadership and critical thinking skills while increasing self and cultural awareness.
Mosiah’s Roots Outdoor Adventures & Fitness bring the adventures to you (site requesting service). Our programs promote leadership skills, self and cultural awareness, and critical thinking skills. All of our programs (outdoor and aquatic) are tailored to function well with school curriculums and other enrichment programs thus allowing school teachers, educators, social workers, youth counselors, parents, and youth/community leaders to participate and/or incorporate our programs. Our services will ensure that each participant, regardless of their learning abilities and/or physical limitations will be filled with a sense of community.
Adventure Programs
It has been shown that outdoor programs focusing on leadership skills, team building, and positive growth experiences, such as The Girl and Boy Scouts of America, Outward Bound and outdoor adventure
leadership programs are great foundation that aid in the healthy
development of children. Research has also shown that urban and
disadvantaged youth have few opportunities to develop the life skills
and positive character values that those organizations help foster in
a safe and constructive environment. If offered in the community, most of the programs are restricted to one central location, and are
expensive; therefore limiting all children being afforded the same
opportunities. Yet, while meeting the needs of some of our youth,
others fall by the wayside. Mosiah’s Roots Outdoor Adventures

Words from the founder
My very first camping experience was just before my 6th birthday, with the Girl Scouts at the Holy Angels School in Chicago, IL. I’ve been involved with the camping industry since then, along with several other youth programming organizations and schools.
During my years of experience I've come to believe that nature, through outdoor adventure, is the edge in education (the secret to success). The activity of camping takes youth out of their normal content and daily routines and places them in an environment the enables them to develop leadership skills, strong character values, and critical thinking skills, while building self-esteem.
